Oh Happy Day!

So yesterday I got some fantastic news... After the interview I had with Cameo PR (a fashion PR  company in New York City)... I got word that...

I GOT THE SUMMER INTERNSHIP!

I am just thrilled about it! As soon as I left the interview I was so excited to hear about the possibility of all the things I would be able to do. She stressed that the internship would be very hands-on and a great learning experience. Two things that I was looking for! I was so anxious after I left the interview because she said I would probably not hear back for a few weeks, however, I heard back the following Tuesday. I believe all the prayers I said in the cab as I left are to thank!

Some of my responsibilities will include running product to and from magazine headquarters, writing pitches, online research, social media work similar to what I did last summer, fashion blogging and resarch (oh sooo terrible, eh? hehe), and even some press releases and writing.

I could not be more excited about this amazing opportunity! The magazines the company work with include Lucky, Real Simple, Life & Style, Elle, Glamour, O Magazine, InStyle, Vogue, People and the list goes on and on...

And some of the companies the firm represents are some that I already love (how conveinent!) Some of these include: Matt Bernson's amazing shoes and accessories, the beautiful Kevia JewelryOlia Jewelry, and LaLucca handbags and accessories.

Here is the Matt Bernson's "Triad" Boot - Which I am currently lusting over! So perfect for fall - it was also featured in this month's Lucky Magazine with Kristen Bell on the cover!

Here is a stunning Kevia ring that was featured on one of my favorite blogs "The Daily Obsession" (www.thedailyobsession.net) - Not only is it extremely chic and dainty - it's affordable!

And here is an Olia bracelet that I just can't get enough of. So pretty!

How great is this watercolor-esque LaLucca handbag? You could literally wear a jean and white t-shirt with this clutch and it would turn the outfit from dingy to du-jour

After all that scolding my mother has given me for all these years... saying that all the magazines and clothes I have purchased and acquired were at times "a waste of my money" -  my love for editorial and fashion have now come in-use! I'll show her! ;)

I could not be more excited about what the future holds!

May the pricey apartment hunting begin... Yikes

I'm in Low Luv with a Knight-In-Shinning-Armor*

Low Luv x Erin Wasson

American model, Erin Wasson, introduced her jewelry line, Low Luv x Erin Wasson, in the spring of 2008. The model-turned-designer has built quite a buzzing sensation with her edgy and perfectly simplistic jewelry line.

It seems that everywhere you turn as of late there are men and women alike donning the heavy-metal plated jewelry in the Low Luv collection. Wasson’s entire series is full of strong statement pieces that can make an entire outfit come to life.

Wasson’s armor-like knuckle ring is the perfect piece to pair up with a feminine outfit to add a little sting. The ring comes in copper, gold and silver hues and is the perfect attention-grabber that you want to wear everyday. The armor ring is instinctively empowering. Many of Wasson’s pieces are robust and husky, perfect for any woman and even your fellow male.

I don’t know about you, but I am running out to grab one of Erin’s amazing Low Luv knuckle rings as soon as I can get my fingers in one. Look into the other colors also, which will leave you reminiscent that you have your very own medieval suit of armor that bends with your knuckle.

Who needs a knight in shining armor when you are bearing this bad-girl ring on your hand? Not me!

Would a Rose by any other name smell as sweet?

Lela Rose Spring 2011 RTW - MBFW

Lela Rose took Mercedes Benz Fashion Week by storm with her ethnic-meets-preppy Spring 2011 collection. Lela, who hails from Dallas, Texas, mixed the southern simplicity of ready-to-wear pieces with luxurious details of Peruvian culture into runway-ready couture. From the extravagant cream-to-plum ombre organza gown, to the bold orange one shoulder frock with an ethnic-patterned belt, Rose blended two contrasting themes to perfection.

The models sported tousled side-braids with bright orangey pouts. Shades of tangerine, cream, grey, bright lime and blue gem tones were incorporated in the various pieces. Her twist? Adding metallic and ombre niceties to any and every piece that she wants, of course! And what girl can say “no” to a little sparkle?

The best thing about Lela Rose’s collection is that many of her pieces are not only extremely wearable, but they can also be worn day-to-night. Rose mixes geometry and structure with pieces of With this spring collection, all of the bases are covered, and beautifully at that!

The rich colors and fabric textures from her collection are strong enough to inspire any jet-setting fashionista to vacate south for an opulent spring getaway. South America, that is.

You can’t dash out of the country for a Peruvian getaway anytime soon? Instead, indulge in one of Lela Rose’s lovely ready-to-wear pieces. It is sure to leave you feeling extravagant, cultured and “dressed to the nines” – all without stepping foot near an airport.
