*Disco Fever*

Over the Thanksgiving break I was able to go to the Hollywood Disco Dance 2010 that benefits Cystic Fibrosis. The disease is dear to my heart because I have a few friends who suffer from the illness. Me, my family, and friends were able to get ~groovy~ for a good cause.

It was seriously one of the best times I have had in so long.

It was one dy-no-mite time! Counting down the days until next year's discoooo!

Don't Quit!

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow--
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor's cup,
And he learned too late when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out--
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

Look A-Lively!

I think Blake Lively is just fantastic. Yes, she is on one of my favorite television shows - and maybe one of the most provocative and funny dramas of our decade, but she is more than just a pretty face. A New York lady by way of California, she is versatile in many ways. Can live on either side of the country, can put on any couture line and look like a million bucks. You know... the girl next door? That is if you live next to gorgeous model-like twenty-somethings. Yeaaaah, me neither.

Anyways - I think she is gorgeous and poised. She exudes classy.
Not only does she get to wear the most luxurious and dreamy threads ever but she wears them so well! She literally makes every piece look like a designers dream. (Afterall, Christian Louboutin recently named a SHOE after the girl!) She is the quintessential fashion"it girl."

Above: Having a major Marchesa moment!

In all the interviews I've seen with her she is so humble and modest. I find that so so attractive in all people but especially celebrities! Here are a few pictures of the pretty lady. I think I also like her a lot because she has a malti-poo that looks just like Bella but a little smaller and a dark apricot color.

Blake just hanging with pal and fashion-savant Karl Lagerfield of Chanel

RIP Penn & Blake - It's not over till the credits roll

Shopping in the city. Normal?

Blake with Penny - Her teacup maltipoo. A girl after my own heart. I. dieeeee!

It's all about the Nookie*

Well... It looks as though Limp Bizkit was right... It's "All About the Nookie!"
Man oh man this collection is so fun and wearable.

May I present to you some of my favorite looks from Nookie at RAFW 2010/2011

What's not to love about this collection:
What I love about this collection:

  1. The fantastic punches of colors, orange being my absolute favorite
  2. The long sweaters with short mini-dresses and shorts - the gauzy fabric is so flattering
  3. Floral - It doesn't get old! Especially for spring and summer
  4. Sateen-like fabrics make everything more luxurious and special
  5. Belted ensembles pull the outfit together, perfectly
  6. Perfect basic nude pumps and booties with each outfit
  7. Taupe and grey flowy basics, especially with the baby pink dress and pastels
  8. Lace, again... more luxury - Do not hate that one little bit.
  9. How did they make those gorgeous black sequined pants look like comfy yoga-pants is BEYOND me and I want a pair. PRONTO!
  10. You mix sparkles + florals + lace + comfort = happy happy ladies!
I want every single outfit! Problem!
